PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • KEEPING IT REAL

CHJ's new substance abuse education program, "Keeping it Real" will provide critical HIV and substance abuse education through a rotating series of six workshops in jail units that house self-identified gay men (the "K6G Unit" of Men's Central Jail) and women who are housed at the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF).

  • CHJ's WOMEN'S PEER EDUCATION PROGRAM

CHJ's Women's Peer Education Program (WPEP), our first treatment-focused intervention with positive women, will meet the unmet education and healthcare access needs of HIV+ and at-risk women in the L.A. County Jail. The goal of WPEP is to educate and empower HIV+ women to stay healthy and advocate for their own healthcare, both during incarceration and after release.

Privacy Policy

Center For Health Justice believes in protecting the privacy of personally identifiable information gathered from visitors to our Web site and individuals who donate online, by phone, through the mail or at events. The policy below explains how Center For Health Justice collects, utilizes and disseminates personal information when you donate or register to receive information from Health Justice. This policy may be changed or updated from time to time.

A. What Information We Collect and How We Use It
Health Justice uses hit counting and traffic analysis to look at trends, administer the Web site, track visitor movement and click-through behavior and gather broad demographic information that is not personally identifiable. This information helps us to better understand our visitors’ site usage patterns and the types of content and information that may help improve your experience on the Health Justice Web site.
We gather personally identifiable information when you contribute to Center For Health Justice online, through the mail, by phone or at events, or when you sign up to receive communications from Health Justice. We do not collect personally identifiable information about people without their permission.
We may use your personally identifiable information to send you legislative updates and action alerts, information about our programs, events and activities, and information about local volunteer opportunities.

B. Donations and Purchases
In order to make a donation on this Web site, by phone, through the mail or at events, a user must first complete a donation form, in which the user provides contact information (such as name and address) and billing information (such as credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to provide receipts for your donations. If we have trouble processing a donation, this contact information can be used to get in touch with the user. This information will be used to send the user a tax receipt (if a donation is made). Unless you indicate otherwise by sending us an e-mail or let us know when you give by phone or through the mail, the user will be added to the Center For Health Justice mailing list.

C. List Sharing
To obtain the names of potential new supporters, Health Justice occasionally rents lists of names from like-minded organizations through reputable and trustworthy third parties. Health Justice will not release its list of supporter names to other organizations. Health Justice does not make its list of supporters available on a rental basis under any circumstances.

D. Mailing List
Individuals who are added to Health Justice’s mailing list may receive periodic mailings throughout the year. We will not exchange our mailing list with other like-minded organizations. If supporters wish to have their names used for an exchange program, they may indicate their preference by sending an email request to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. F. Credit Card Donations
Web site donations and donations made by phone, through the mail or at events are processed exclusively by Network for Good. Network for Good operates intelligent infrastructure services that enable and protect billions of interactions every day across the world’s voice and data networks. H. Security Measures to Protect Your Personal Information
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When you submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our donation form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers), the information is encrypted and protected. While on a secure page, such as the credit card number entry form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer will display as “locked.”
We also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our supporters' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. If we decide to change our privacy policy in a material way (for example, use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected), we will post those changes prominently on our Web site for 30 days prior to taking effect. Users will always have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
